La Marmotte Granfondo is the most classic and well-known Granfondo of them all. It’s popularity remains high. At Ride Up, we understand this. La Marmotte is the ultimate combination of a tough challenge in a wonderful surrounding. The climbs of Col du Glandon, Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez are one by one stunning and hard. Let alone if you combine them in one ride! This makes for a total of 174km with over 5,000 altitude metres!
This big a challenge calls for the best preparation possible. Therefore, Ride Up has found an experienced partner in Chalet Beyond. For over 15 years, thousands of riders have prepared for La Marmotte in their cycling hotel in Oz. With guided tours, massage, sports food and a great location, you will certainly be ready on the big day. On raceday, a personal supply zone is provided.

You arrive at the beautiful chalet in Oz. Settle in, have some food and enjoy the scenery.
Prep your bike and if you have time, you can loosen the legs a little bit. Your trip has started!
Day 2
Tuesday 23rd of JuneCol d’Ornon
After a delicious breakfast, we prepare for the first ride in these great surroundings.
We start with one of the nicest climbs in the region: Col d’Ornon. A doable climb with a few steeper sections, so this will be a first challenge. The view will be a nice bonus.

Wednesday 24th of June1st climb of La Marmotte
Next up are two classics of the Tour de France combined: Col du Glandon and Col de la Croix de Fer. This is also a recon of the first climb of La Marmotte.
This will be a tough day out with over 2.200 altitude metres!

Thursday 25th of JuneLast climb of La Marmotte
Talking about classics! The historical L’Alpe d’Huez is on the menu today. This is of course the last climb of La Marmotte. So it is good to feel how much energy to save, if possible.
The descent is definitely worthwhile, crossing the beautiful Pas de la Confession

Tapering towards La Marmotte: as flat as possible around here.
Take your car to Allemond for a ride through the valley by the river.
