Cycling cafes Calpe 2027

Calpe is a cycling paradise on the Costa Blanca, exactly between Alicante and Valencia. The region enjoys a microclimate with more than 300 sunny days per year. Almost all professional and club teams hold their training camps here. The asphalt is tight, climbs like the Coll de Rates are easy to do and there are numerous cycling cafes. No wonder the region is rapidly gaining popularity!

Looking for a winter escape in the middle of the professional peloton? We visit at least one cycling café of the pros every day. Go with RideUp along on the Costa Blanca Cycling Cafe Winter Escape! We stay in the heart of this beautiful area.

You arrive at Alicante airport and are taken to the hotel. Settle in, enjoy a meal and explore the town.

Your bicycle will be delivered and if there is time, you can briefly loosen the legs. Your journey has begun!

After a delicious breakfast we get ready for the first ride in this great area. We make a short trip and then visit the Benidorm cyclocross. Of course we stop at a cycling café along the way.

The next ride is a long and beautiful day on one of the most popular routes among the pros. We are guaranteed to spot a lot of them today! The start leads us gradually up to Tárbena, from where we conquer the other side of the Coll de Rates. The descent to the village of Parcent is smooth and pleasant. Here we stop at one of the cycling cafes most visited by pros. We descend further to the coastline and return to the hotel.

Another famous route, this time to the lake with the typical Spanish name: Guadalest. We make a circuit around the lake, which includes some steep parts. After a wonderful descent we stop at the café in Callosa d'en Sarrià, before returning to the hotel.

The day of rest has arrived! And what do the pros do on a rest day? They get on their bikes for a quiet recovery ride. Where to? To the café of course!

We follow the coastline to the best café in the region: Cafeseamos. Make sure you're hungry, because the cake slices are huge there! Be careful on this main road.

Time for the next famous and beautiful climb of this region: Puerto de Tudons. The road winds upwards with beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding area. Enjoy it!

After this climb there is a new, shorter climb to Puerto de Confrides. Then the hard work is over and it's mostly down to the café and hotel!

The last cycling day has arrived and we still have two beautiful climbs on our list. The route starts in an easterly direction along the coast. Between Calpe and Moraira we start the climb of the Fustera. Once we arrive in Jalón, the nicest cycling café in the region awaits us. Here we enjoy coffee and something tasty before we continue our way.

The next challenge is the famous Coll de Rates. Do you still have some energy left in your legs? Then try the Super Coll de Rates (officially Tossal dels Diners): a tough climb of 3 kilometers with very steep sections. We then continue the road, sloping, but mainly descending, back to the hotel.

Time to leave, but of course not without breakfast. You will be taken to the airport.

Hopefully we can all look back on a great week with beautiful rides and new friendships. An experience you will never forget.

Until next time!
